Pedro da Silva Prize for Graduate Students for 2023-2024
Francisco Mangas won the Pedro da Silva LSA Prize for Graduate Students, for 2023-2024. As part of the prize, he was awarded $1,000 (CAD) and the opportunity, after peer review, to be published in the Portuguese Studies Review (Winter 2023 Issue). Francisco Mangas licenciou-se em História pela FLUP em 2014 e terminou, em 2016, o mestrado na FCSH-UNL com uma tese sobre o abastecimento cerealífero a Lisboa durante o século XVI. Trabalhou como bolseiro do CIDEHUS-Universidade de Évora num projeto sobre a “desestruturação dos grupos mercantis Alentejanos” no final do Antigo Regime. Doutoramento sobre a presença cigana em Portugal durante a Época Moderna, na U. Porto e no CITCEM.
