A Associação de Estudos Lusófonos (LSA) tem o prazer de anunciar que a nossa conferência de 2026 Vozes e Visões: Comunidades Lusófonas no Panorama Global acontecerá na Universidade da Colúmbia Britânica, Okanagan, Canadá, de 14 a 16 de maio de 2026 (evento híbrido presencial e Zoom).

The Lusophone Studies Association (LSA) is pleased to announce that our 2026 conference Voices and Visions: Lusophone Communities in the Global Landscape will be held at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan, Canada, 14-16 May 2025 (in-person and Zoom hybrid event).

We welcome you to our International LSA Conference 2026: Voices and Visions: Lusophone Communities in the Global Landscape that will be taking place from 14 to 16 May 14 2026 at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. This conference examines the voices and visions of the Portuguese Diaspora, considering contemporary and historical perspectives that encompass the Lusophone world. We will be exploring themes such as pain and power through the emergence of the Luso-Iberian empires, colonialism, gender, racialization, slavery, and the Lusophone media in all its aspects. This conference considers a wide range of topics that include the Portuguese community along the Pacific Ocean coasts and more specifically in the Okanagan valley of British Columbia, Canada. Overall,the inclusive conference considers the Lusophone world from varying standpoints and through the framework of lived experiences, across centuries and into the present.

Convidamos todos os participantes da conferência para encaminharem manuscritos finalizados das suas colaborações ao escritório da revista Portuguese Studies Review (por e-mail), anterior a uma avaliação inter pares, e posterior publicação (uma vez aceitados). Iniciado o processo de avaliação do manuscrito, os autores comprometem-se a não retirá-lo e tampouco enviá-lo à outra revista até o término do processo. Os requisitos e especificações (folha de estilo / apresentação) podem ser encontrados/as >> aqui <<, com amplas amostras (PDF) >> aqui << (números anteriores da Portuguese Studies Review, pré-visualização gratuita: recomenda-se consultar os números mais recentes da revista). Convidamos partes interessadas e particulares para apresentarem propostas de lotes temáticos de trabalhos.

We invite all conference participants to forward completed manuscripts of their contributions to the Portuguese Studies Review office (via email), for peer review and subsequent publication once accepted. Once the manuscript evaluation process has started, the authors undertake not to withdraw the manuscript or send it to another journal until the end of the process. We invite individuals or working groups to formulate proposals for thematic issues of the review.
